about
A debut solo single of the English-Czech singer-songwriter Zoe Hayter.
Zoe Hayter is a young English-Czech folk-rock singer-songwriter and busker. At a very young age she started playing on the streets and in front of public in France. In 2015 she’s put together an indie-rock band called Her English Blood that was based in Prague. In 2017 her band released their debut album Only Breathing which they have produced themselves with the money Zoe made from busking everyday for a year.
Then Zoe started to play her gigs solo or with her new backing band. Since then she has supported musicians and bands such as Glen Hansard, Dan Owen, Deep Blue Something, Ivan & the Parazol and Ye Vagabonds.
In March 2019 Zoe released her first solo single with an official video ‘High Expectations’ which was baptised by Tonya Graves. Zoe also performed solo at the Metronome Festival in Prague and at Glastonbury Festival in England with Footsbarn Travelling Theatre during the summer 2019, and was on the BBC national broadcast with them. Zoe is now playing concerts all around Czech republic and the rest of Europe, you can still find her busking on the streets of Prague from time to time.

LYRICS - HIGH EXPECTATIONS:
Now only blindly staring
Naive all this time believing
There's someone who's coming to save me
In the dirt still barely breathing
High expectations always falling low
Another night of just another lonely fall
Without a single bone to throw
No never had anybody else to call
In your eyes I could see no trust
While all of us always just covered in dust
and I can't wait, no I can't feel
The love all of you said you had for me
High expectations always falling low
Another night of just another lonely fall
Without a single bone to throw
No never had anybody else to call
So leave quietly now, I don't need you here
I've been raised this way
It's okay for my eyes to tear
If you ever change your mind to catch my back
I'll gladly erase all the scars you made inside of my mind
High expectations always falling low
Another night of just another lonely fall
